The registry-lock prevents your domains against unwanted contact changes, deletion, transfers, dns hijacking. This adds another level of security to your domains on the registry level.
The following changes are blocked with registry lock:

• Domain transfer
• Deletion of domain
• Nameserver updates
• Contact changes of any sort.
• Modification performed by our staff members

The domain will still be auto-renewed when the registry lock is set. The price varies for each tld, as there are manual processes involved and some even require papers to be filled out and signed. This causes a time delay in the process of adding and removing the registry lock.

At this time the registry lock is offered for the following tld’s:
.com, .ch, .de, .li, .net, .eu, .fr, .cn, .biz, info, .cc, .tv, .archi, .bet, .bio, .black, .blue, .green, .kim, .lgtb, .mobi, .name, .pet, .pink, .poker, .promo, .organic, .red, .ski, .shiksha
